PATRICK Dangerfield is not only a proven matchwinner
on the field, but he can certainly get it done in the banter

Dangerfield showed up to a press conference for Geelong on
Monday on crutches, with his head clad in a bandage, his left
arm in a sling and carrying a fake foot.

The Geelong star was not in a serious car accident on the way
to the press event, it was just Dangerfield giving a hilarious
response to claims he fakes injuries

The Brownlow Medal favourite injured his foot early in
Saturday’s match against Hawthorn, only to return to the field
and kick five goals.

He was involved in 11 scoring opportunities and claimed 20
disposals — a true match winning performance.

There was no shortage of praise for the 27-year-old’s heroic
display. AFL legend Leigh Matthews leading the tributes.

“He hobbled off and you thought he was done for the day,”
Matthews told Channel Seven.

“He clearly couldn’t kick left foot and he couldn’t jog and he
couldn’t stride — but he looked like he could sprint OK. And as
he played deep forward, he just kept finding holes in the
Hawthorn zone.”

The Power premiership winner, now media identity said the
Geelong star had a history of hamming up his injuries. Cornes
also revealed that while at the Adelaide Crows, Dangerfield was
spoken to by teammates about it.

“He does exaggerate injuries,” Cornes said on Nine’s Sunday
Footy Show

“In his time at Adelaide, his teammates had to sit him down and
say, ‘Look, you do carry on a little bit with your injuries’
and he does.”

Cue Dangerfield’s epic retort of Cornes.

But it seems Dangerfield is in serious doubt to take his place
against his former club, as Geelong travel to Adelaide to meet
the Crows on Friday night.

The Geelong star did have scans on Monday, but believes the
issue to his foot is simply bone bruising and he is still an
outside chance of playing, saying he is sore, but if he can
manage the pain, he would play.

more his comedic retort to Cornes.
