Anarchist’s 2016 Gift Guide, Day 5: Arno Burnisher

arno_burnisher_img_6748

I’ve burned by means of loads of burnishers, from those I’ve
made myself out of carbide rod to very costly variants. My
favourite is the
French-made Arno burnisher
.

All the pieces in regards to the instrument is true. The deal with is light-weight
aluminum, completely formed and has a guard so my fingers
gained’t slip off the deal with and onto the scraper. The instrument has
two carbide rods for burnishing scrapers. One has a spherical
profile, which is what I usually use to show a burr on
scrapers. The opposite one has a triangular profile, which
permits me so as to add some severe stress to a scraper that’s
significantly laborious (and I see extra laborious scrapers as of late).

Each bits of carbide are very nice grained and clean. With a
drop of oil, the carbide glides over the metal because it turns a
burr.

Oh, and it comes with a leather-based sheath, which actually does
shield the instrument from abuse in your drawer or instrument chest.
